The folder stays the system of record
A local-first workspace begins with files already available on the Windows PC. It does not require moving every project into a new cloud database.
Permission still matters
Local does not mean unlimited. The product should use only explicitly chosen sources, show what is connected, and let the customer remove access.
Some services remain online
Activation, billing, updates, support, and some intelligence functions may need the internet. The useful promise is transparent boundaries—not an unrealistic claim that the product never communicates.
