How to compare project document revisions
Find the changes that affect money, scope, schedule, and responsibility.
Choose the controlling versions
Start with the last accepted version and the newly issued version. Confirm dates and status before comparing them so a draft is not mistaken for the controlling document.
Compare by business effect
Review price, quantities, dates, payment, deliverables, exclusions, and responsibilities. A long list of formatting changes is less useful than one clearly explained term that changes what someone must do.
Resolve conflict instead of hiding it
If two current files disagree, keep both values visible and decide which source controls. Sclerite is designed to show the source and uncertainty rather than turn conflicting documents into a falsely certain answer.
